All About Tallow
Tallow is animal fat. Tallow can come from different animals including cows, sheep, deer, and bear. We exclusively use grass fed and finished beef tallow from Arc Acres Farm, located just outside of Ottawa in Manotick Station.
Amber Payne (of Arc Acres) is a staple in the field of regenerative agriculture and an incredible mentor. Grass finished animals are a very important aspect when working with fat, as many toxins build up and live in fat cells.
TALLOW BENEFITS
Tallow has amazing moisturizing properties due to its fatty acid content. It helps to protect and replenish the skins lipid barrier locking moisture in.
Tallow has the same natural composition as our skins sebum (natural oil.) It is simply the most nourishing ingredient you can put on your skin, and is great for all skin types, including those more sensitive folks.
Tallow is full of vitamins and minerals including: Vitamins A, D, E, K, and B12. These nutrients are bioavailable in tallow and help with collagen production and cell regeneration.
Tallow is sustainable. It is often a bi-product of the meat industry, although Arc Acres knows better. Grass fed and finished tallow supports regenerative agriculture and a closed loop system. It also has an amazing shelf life as it is stable at room temperature.
